Congratulations to Saige Green, & Aubrie Middleton they were chosen as Palmetto State Delegates. Aniya Louden and Anna Grace Rogers were chosen as Alternate Delegates. Palmetto Girls State is a one-week leadership and citizenship training program, created to educate outstanding high school students about state and local government and citizenship. Girls attending Palmetto Girls State experience governmental procedures by simulating political campaigns, elections, and the political process. They also learn about the principles of citizenship and public service from guest speakers, expert panels, and staff members. The delegates, who are rising seniors in high school, are selected for the program based on the leadership skills and involvement they have shown in their respective schools and communities.The leadership training dates are June 12-18, 2022 @ Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC.

Ninety-Six High School Library Club Members
donate funds to The American Cancer Society. Students in the library club are encouraged to give back to their communities. This year the group chose to raise funds for The American Cancer Society. I am pleased to announce that the group raised $100 for this very worthy cause.

Way to Go Taylor! We are so proud of you! Ms. Taylor Smithwas awarded a Hagan Scholarship to attend Clemson University. The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship designed to help high achieving students graduate college debt-free. The scholarship provides up to $6,000 each semester for up to eight consecutive semesters. The scholarship also provides recipients with a practical understanding of important life skills not typically covered in the school curriculum via free workshops, Schwab brokerage accounts and study abroad. Hagan Scholars currently attend colleges and universities located in 47 states.

NSHS and EMS State Academic Challenge Champions
NSHS and EMS State Academic Challenge Champions
On Mar 25, 2022, both Ninety Six High School and Edgewood Middle School Academic Challenge teams won their respective state championships in Camden. Ninety Six High defeated Camden High School in the semifinals and Cheraw High School in the finals. NSHS had won the last state championship that was held in 2020, making them back-to-back champions. Edgewood Middle defeated North Central Middle in the semi-finals and Latta Middle School in the finals to take the championship. Clinton High won the large-school championship and Clinton Middle was runner-up in their division.

Congratulations! EOC Winners for students who made a C or better on the Fall EOCs

Greenwood County Education Association
announces scholarship recipients for the 2021-22 school year. Students in Greenwood School Districts 50, 51, and 52 were allowed to participate. Students were scored on academics and a written essay. Congratulations, Melanie Batac, Ware Shoals High School Senior and Ninety Six High School Senior, Brooke Dotson this year's recipients. The scholarship winners will receive a $250 scholarship.

Thank you, Mrs. Baumberger and Culinary Arts students for a wonderful lunch for the School Improvement Council Meeting on Thursday, March 17, 2022. We are so proud of our Culinary Arts Program at Ninety Six High School!

Congratulations, Zoe Wrenn and Jacob Moore, their banner placed 1st place in the Annual State Librarians Banner Competition in Myrtle Beach, SC on March 9-11 for young adults. The students were encouraged to participate in the competition by Media Specialist, Mrs. Jacqueline Rapp who coordinated the project with English teacher, Mr. Garrick O'Dell. Way to Go, Zoe and Jacob!

The delegates will attend the sessions from June 13th -18th. The delegates are selected for the program based on the leadership skills and involvement they have shown in their respective schools and communities. Way to Go, A’Naria!

Ninety- Six Highschool Student government elections 2021-2022
Student campaigns begin today, as our students run for positions in the Ninety-Six High School Student Government. The video below is the campaign videos submitted by our students. All Ninety-Six High School Students will have the opportunity to vote from April 12th- April 15th.
Congratulations to Allyson Collier, winner of the GCEA Scholarship. The Greenwood Education Association Scholarship has specific criteria which included an essay. The essay seeks advice from seniors to incoming freshmen on how to navigate high school. The scholarship recipient will receive $250. Way to go, Allyson.

Dr. Marion Smith, a retired music professor from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida, and a part-time employee of the Greenwood Museum spoke to a group of Ninety Six High School students about Women's Suffrage and the 19th amendment.

The Heisman High School Scholarship continues a 25-year tradition of honoring high school seniors who accomplish tremendous feats in the classroom, on the field, and most importantly, within their communities. The scholarship recognizes and rewards both male and female high school athletes who are community-minded and driven to use their exceptional talents for the benefit of all.

Beth Brownlee
Beth is our 2020-2021 District Teacher of the Year. She is a hard-working member of our faculty. She currently teaches Physical Education and Teacher Cadet. She is helping to mold and grow our future teachers. She also helps after school to coach our high school volleyball team. She challenges our students to be the best version of themselves. We are very proud of her accomplishment. Please join us in congratulating Beth Brownlee for this distinguished award.
