Fitz Sprowl Promoted to Principal at Ninety Six High School

Fitz Sprowl has been named as the new principal at Ninety Six High School for the 2024-2025 school year. Sprowl is currently the assistant principal at Ninety Six High School, a position he has held for the last four years.

“I am very humbled to become the principal at Ninety Six High School,” Sprowl stated. “I’m excited about the opportunity and looking forward to making a positive impact on the learning and lives of the students and staff at Ninety Six High.”

During his 26 years in Ninety Six, Sprowl has worked as an assistant principal, FLEX facilitator, and high school science teacher. Sprowl graduated from Furman University and went on to earn a Master’s degree from the University of South Carolina. He has also obtained a Bachelor's degree in Science Secondary Education from Lander University and a Specialist degree from Clemson University in Administration Supervision.

“Mr. Sprowl is a transformational servant leader and excellent choice to lead Ninety Six High School,” Executive Director of Human Resources and Special Projects Cathy Anderson said. “He is professional, driven, and believes in building quality relationships with students, teachers, staff, and parents. He is respected by his peers and will continue the tradition of excellence that has been established at our high school.”

Superintendent Dr. Beth Taylor stated, “Mr. Sprowl will do an excellent job in his new role at Ninety Six High School. “He will have a positive impact on the faculty, staff, students, and parents at the school. He has a proven track record for success in our district and I fully anticipate this to continue in his new role. He is truly the perfect example of our district’s motto which is “Once a Wildcat, Always a Wildcat.”

In July, Sprowl will replace current Ninety Six High School principal Darin Rice who recently accepted a district administrative position in Greenwood School District 51.
