Students David Gilliam, Za'Lea Lomax, and Kemy'Jah Moore represented NSHS last week at the SCLBC Youth Legislative Conference. The conference is designed for South Carolina high school students to engage in a mock legislative session where they act as legislators for the day by discussing bills on the committee level and debating legislation as legislators would do on the Statehouse Floor. This process replicates the actual process of how a bill becomes a law. They received an overall firsthand understanding of how decisions are made and how legislation moves through the South Carolina General Assembly.
