Hall of Fame Information

The Ninety Six School District Hall of Fame recognizes individuals who have demonstrated outstanding achievement, leadership, character, or service in athletics, academics, the arts, education, or service to the Ninety Six School District, including Ninety Six High School and Edgewood High School.

Hall of Fame candidates should have demonstrated accomplishments or contributions that are above the ordinary and have made a lasting impact on the Ninety Six school community.

Eligibility Requirements

Candidates must meet the following requirements based on the category for which they are being nominated:

• School Merits: The nominee must be at least fifteen (15) years removed from graduation.
• Coaching/Director Merits: The nominee must be retired or at least five (5) years removed from employment with the Ninety Six School District.
• Service to the School Community: The nominee must have provided at least ten (10) years of service to the Ninety Six school community.

All nominees must demonstrate high achievement and good character.

Nomination Process

All Hall of Fame candidates must be nominated. Each person may nominate one individual per year. The person submitting the nomination is responsible for providing accurate and complete information that will assist the Hall of Fame Committee in evaluating the nominee.

All nominations should be submitted through the official Google Form; paper/email nominations can be submitted at the front office of Ninety Six High School or to Principal Fitz Sprowl ([email protected]) 

The nomination form will collect the information necessary for the Hall of Fame Committee to review the nominee.

Supporting Documentation

Supporting documentation is strongly encouraged and may be required to verify accomplishments.

Examples of supporting documentation include:

• Newspaper articles or clippings
• Yearbook pages
• Athletic statistics
• Records and accomplishments
• Awards and certificates
• Photographs
• Official school or athletic records
• Other documentation that demonstrates the nominee's accomplishments or contributions

Statistics and major accomplishments should be documented whenever possible.

If you have supporting materials that cannot be submitted electronically through the nomination process, they may be delivered to:

Supporting materials may be scanned and added to the nominee's file.

Please do not submit valuable or irreplaceable original items. While submitted materials will be handled with care, the school cannot be responsible for irreplaceable items.

Hall of Fame Selection Committee

The Ninety Six School District has established a Hall of Fame Committee to receive and review nominations.

The committee will review submitted nominations and supporting documentation and will select the individuals to be inducted.

There will be no more than five (5) inductees each year.

The committee will review nominations and make its selections according to the established Hall of Fame criteria.

 

Induction

Hall of Fame selections will be announced and recognized at a Ninety Six High School home football game.

The induction ceremony will take place during the pregame or halftime portion of the selected home football game.

Inductees and their limited party will receive complimentary admission to the football game. 

Hall of Fame Recognition

Hall of Fame members will have their photographs and accomplishments displayed at the Ninety Six Wildcat Multiplex in the form of a plaque.

Each Hall of Fame member will also receive a plaque recognizing their induction.

Information and photographs for Hall of Fame members will also be maintained on the Ninety Six High School Athletics website.

Important Information for Nominators

• Each person may nominate one individual per year.
• A nominee who is not selected may remain in the nomination pool for consideration in future years.
• There may be a maximum of five (5) selections each year.
• Nominators are responsible for providing accurate information and supporting documentation.
• The Hall of Fame Committee reserves the right to verify information submitted with a nomination.
• Late nominations will not be accepted after the published deadline.
