I graduated from Ninety Six High School in 2008 and earned a B.A. degree in history from the College of Charleston in 2013. I hold certification to teach social studies, English/language arts, and theater, all for grades 7 through 12. I completed my Read to Succeed coursework and earned endorsement to teach gifted and talented students at all grade levels. I anticipate finishing an M.Ed degree in Instructional Technology in the summer of 2025. I earned certification as a Montessori secondary teacher and worked for the first six years of my career in one of the few Montessori high schools in the world, an experience that deeply formed me as an educator who seeks to meet young people where they are at, academically and personally, and to help them grow from those places.
My wife teaches middle school social studies in Greenwood School District 50 and we have one son, a dog, and a cat. In my time outside of school, I enjoy reading, cooking, playing with our son, and working on manuscript projects using calligraphy.
